In 2021, The Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI) has been selected to administer a rebate program for Lebanese industrial firms aiming to improve their wastewater management. The Industrial Wastewater Treatment (IWT) Project is funded by the Community Support Program (CSP) at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Its main objective is to develop and enhance the culture of industrial wastewater treatment, promote sound treatment of wastewater, and comply with the applicable environmental regulations.
Through this grant, ALI will provide wastewater management solutions to several industries, conduct outreach to improve efficiencies and promote scale-up of these solutions.
The three subsectors that could benefit from the rebate program are industries working in the production of Pickles, Tahini and Halawa, and Olive Agrofood industries. Up to seven industrial firms may benefit from this program.
