Honorary Ceremony at the Association of Lebanese Industrialists: Lebanon Wins 8 Global Packaging Awards

An honorary ceremony was held today at the headquarters of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists to celebrate the Lebanese companies that won the WorldStar Awards 2026, under the patronage of Minister of Industry Joe Issa El Khoury, in cooperation with the Association of Lebanese Industrialists headed by Salim Zeeni, and organized by LibanPack headed by Nabil Gemayel.

The award, organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO), is considered one of the most prestigious and important global awards in the packaging sector. This year, nearly 500 entries from more than 40 countries participated in the competition. Lebanon succeeded in winning 8 global awards out of 18 Lebanese entries that qualified for the international competition through the Arab StarPack competition organized by LibanPack, placing the country among the top ten nations worldwide in terms of the number of awards won. This achievement reflects the ability of Lebanese industry to innovate and compete at the international level despite the economic challenges and difficult circumstances facing the country.

In addition to Minister Issa El Khoury, Zeeni, and Gemayel, the ceremony was attended by Soha Atallah, Vice President of the World Packaging Organization, as well as representatives of the industrial sector, media outlets, and the winning companies.

Minister of Industry

During the ceremony, Issa El Khoury emphasized that the Lebanese industrial sector has once again proven that creativity, quality, and resilience are stronger than crises, noting that Lebanon achieved a remarkable accomplishment in the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026. He stated: “We are not only celebrating awards, but also a truly strategic sector. Packaging is sometimes viewed as the final stage of production; however, it is much more than that. It protects products, extends their shelf life, facilitates transportation and export, enhances brand image, and enables Lebanese products to confidently enter international markets.”

He added: “The packaging sector is becoming increasingly important in light of global environmental challenges. The Ministry of Industry is working to establish the necessary frameworks to encourage recycling and promote the circular economy across various productive sectors.” Issa El Khoury congratulated the winning Lebanese companies and commended LibanPack for its continuous efforts in supporting the development of the packaging sector and enhancing its competitiveness. He concluded by saying: “Lebanon shines when its industry shines.”

Zeeni

For his part, Zeeni stressed that winning these awards once again confirms the national industry’s commitment to the highest international quality standards. While emphasizing the importance of packaging in marketing industrial products, as it provides consumers with their first impression of a product, he noted that Lebanon’s packaging industry has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. He added that the awards being received today are the result of these dedicated efforts and affirmed that this success sends a message of confidence in the capabilities of Lebanese industry, which remains a fundamental pillar of the national economy.

Gemayel

In turn, Gemayel pointed out that the success of Lebanese companies is the result of years of work dedicated to developing the packaging sector and fostering a culture of innovation within it. He highlighted the role played by LibanPack in organizing and managing the WorldStar Awards on behalf of the World Packaging Organization (WPO), considering this international mandate as a reflection of the standing of Lebanese expertise in the sector and the international community’s confidence in its organizational and professional capabilities.
