Industrial Gathering in Bekaa

Industrial Gathering in Bekaa

The Association of Bekaa Industrialists hosted a major meeting at Gardenia Grand d’or with Salim Zeenni, President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI), alongside members of the association and local industrial figures.

Discussions addressed the main challenges facing the sector, including high energy costs, smuggling, lack of consistent industrial policies, and export obstacles.

Nicolas Abou Faisal, President of the Association of Bekaa Industrialists, called for a unified national vision to protect and strengthen Lebanese industry.

Zeenni stressed that “reducing operational costs remains the only real solution to save Lebanese industry,” revealing plans to allow industrial fuel imports at real prices — a move expected to cut production costs by up to 20%. He also highlighted efforts to expand industrial zones and reopen export markets.

Mounir Al-Teiny, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Zahle and the Bekaa, emphasized improving infrastructure and transport networks, including reopening the Rayak Airport, to enhance exports and boost the Bekaa’s economic role.
