The Association of Lebanese Industrialists, represented by its General Manager Talal Hajazi, participated on September 21st and 22nd in Asia Employers’ Summit in Tokyo which was co-organised by the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) in partnership with Keidanren and with the support of the European Union.
During the conference, Hajazi, speaking on behalf of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, highlighted Lebanon’s severe shortage of skilled labor, particularly in the industrial sector, and the technical competencies required to advance the industry. He also discussed the challenges faced by industrialists, including the high cost of electricity.
Hajazi emphasized the role of the private sector, especially the national industry, during the recent financial and economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. He pointed out how the Lebanese private sector contributed to the resilience of the Lebanese economy and stimulated economic activities.
Hajazi also presented Lebanon’s experience after the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Association of Lebanese Industrialists and the Ministries of Education, Higher Education, and Industry. This memorandum aimed to enhance the Lebanese workforce’s professional and technical skills, thereby promoting and developing the sector to benefit the Lebanese industry.
