The Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI) along with Expertise France, the French public agency for the design and implementation of international technical cooperation projects, have launched the Minjara platform in 2018. The 1,500 sqm platform is located in Tripoli and is funded by the European Union (EU).
Minjara aims to contribute to the economic development of Lebanon by empowering veteran carpenters in Tripoli and connecting them to engineers, designers, and furniture stores in Lebanon and abroad in order to revive the wooden furniture industry in the region.
During the inauguration ceremony, ALI president, Fadi Gemayel, highlighted the Association’s constant efforts to support the industrial sector. ALI believes that traditional industries can keep up with modern times, due to their unique role and capabilities, noting that Minjara started by connecting traditional industries to international designers.
